Wedding photo framed with preserved wedding flowers, a personalized keepsake gift by ADONIA Studios

Most couples today already live together. You have a toaster. You probably have more than one set of towels. So your registry is starting to look less like a housewares list and more like a collection of things that matter: experiences, a few heirloom pieces, and funds for what's next.

That's exactly where bouquet preservation fits. Whether you're buying your first house on the South Shore or you've curated a rental you love, it's the kind of piece you'd never buy yourself but will keep for the rest of your life.

Why it makes a meaningful registry gift

It's the one wedding purchase that lasts. Most of the wedding budget is gone by the end of the night. A preserved bouquet becomes framed art that hangs in your home for decades.

It takes the guilt out of it. Preservation can feel like a splurge to buy for yourself, especially when the budget is already stretched. When guests give it, it becomes a gift from the people who were there.

Guests love giving something personal. A cash fund for your bouquet is a lot more memorable to give than a gift card. Guests know exactly what their gift becomes.

It's the low-waste option. If you'd rather not register for more stuff, this is a gift that saves something beautiful from the trash instead of adding to it.

It's perfect for parents and grandparents. So many moms want to give their daughter something that lasts longer than the day. This is exactly that.

How to add bouquet preservation to your registry

  1. Choose your tier. At ADONIA Studios, wedding preservation starts at $325 for a Small piece, with Signature ($525), Grand ($850), and Heirloom ($1,200) options. See the details on our pricing page.

  2. Create a cash fund. Most registry platforms, including Zola and The Knot, let you add a cash fund for anything. Name it something like "Our First Heirloom: Bouquet Preservation" and set the goal to your chosen tier.

  3. Write a short description. Tell guests what it is and why it matters (see our sample below).

  4. Add a photo. Use an image of a finished framed piece so guests can see what they're giving.

  5. Book your date early. Reserve your preservation date before the wedding so everything is planned. The fund can cover your balance once the gifts come in.

Sample registry description

Our First Heirloom. My bouquet will be one of the most meaningful things I carry on our wedding day, and we want to keep it forever. Your gift helps us turn it into a framed piece of pressed floral art for our first home, so the flowers from our day become part of our everyday.

Add-ons guests can cover, too

  • Personal details (+$55): add your name, wedding date, a special photo, or your wedding invitation to the frame.

  • Fabric accents (+$70): include ribbon from your bouquet or a piece of lace from your dress.

  • Keepsakes for your people: bridal party keepsakes ($55 each) and pieces for parents and grandparents ($100 each).

For moms, grandparents, and shower hosts

Not on the registry? Preservation also makes a beautiful shower gift or a gift from the mother of the bride. If you're not sure which size she'd love, let her choose. Reach out and we'll help you set up a gift that lets her pick her design.

ADONIA Studios is a floral preservation studio on the South Shore of Massachusetts. Questions? Email chelsea@adonia-studios.com.
