Our Story

Anyone who knows me probably knows how I like to spend my free time and money. If I've got extra cash, I'm at Trader Joe's buying an absurd number of flowers 💐, or at the nursery filling the back of my truck (her name is Gladys) with plants I don't technically have room for yet. I just want to be surrounded by living things — every room of the house, and the whole garden too.

Then we brought home two kittens — bonded sisters, sweet as anything, completely unhinged as a unit. Their favorite hobby? Knocking over vases. Batting the water around. Dragging stems across the floor like little trophies, very proud of themselves. Three days in a row I came home to the same scene: tipped vase, water everywhere, tulips scattered like a crime had been committed.

I stood there with a roll of paper towels and thought: there has to be a way to have flowers in my life that doesn't end like this. So I made one.

In ancient Greece, the Adonia was a festival where women planted fast-growing gardens that bloomed and withered within days — a way of mourning how quickly beauty fades. I named this studio in light of the opposite. Every piece I make is my answer to a garden that isn't allowed to die: real flowers, preserved so a moment doesn't have to end when the blooms would.
